PAN AFRICAN SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH COUNCIL - COVID19 CONFERENCE RESEARCH PAPER
Abstract:
Nigeria’s first COVID-19 lockdown was implemented as a result of an increase in numbers of COVID-19 patients. At this time, the numbers were published daily by Nigeria’s Centre for Disease Control, a forefront national public health institute run by the Federal Government of Nigeria under its Ministry of Health. It was the rise in these numbers that prompted Industrious and populated Nigerian states with resident international airports to anchor the implementation of strategies and policies to stop/arrest the widespread of the virus. Companies at this time were already smitten by the idea of shutting down for the period especially Brick/Mortar and traditionally inclined institutions/enterprises who before now never considered working from home. Companies folded and new ones sprung up. Technologies were discovered, harnessed and adopted by enterprises, individuals and the Nigerian government. How Nigerian citizens quickly handled staying and working from home for the whole length of different lockdown phases without losing it and at the same time triggering a chain reaction of technology disruption is discussed in this research paper.
